Advantage Technical is recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer for our client, specializing in solar asset management and NERC compliance for inverter‑based resources (IBRs). You'll develop and maintain compliance programs, performance models, and reliability tools that keep solar generation assets operating safely and efficiently within the bulk electric system.
What You'll Do:- Develop and maintain solar asset models, reliability databases, and performance tracking systems
- Lead NERC compliance documentation, corrective action plans, and mitigation strategies for solar facilities
- Evaluate equipment and system issues impacting safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and senior engineering teams on troubleshooting, post‑event analysis, and capital investment planning
- Create and improve procedures, training materials, and standard processes supporting solar reliability and grid performance
- Engineering degree from an ABET‑accredited institution (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 12+ years of engineering experience (Principal/Senior Consulting level)
- Knowledge of inverter‑based resources, NERC Reliability Standards, and electric utility operations
- Experience with electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, switch gear, and protection systems
- PE or FE licensure preferred
