DCS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Program Materials Engineer supporting Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Agile Weapons Division ARRW program (AFLCMC/EBX ARRW).This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process.
Essential Job Functions:- Assist with the design, development, qualification, and testing of warheads, including mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, and aircraft integration.
- Support penetration modeling (such as Penetration Curve/PENCURV), fragmentation and penetration performance analysis, fatigue and stress analysis, and insensitive munitions work in accordance with MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-2105C.
- Provide materials engineering support, including identifying suitable materials, advising on material composition and processing, and developing or improving fabrication and processing techniques.
- Perform testing and evaluation of materials, corrosion control, failure analysis, and contribute to developing or revising inspection techniques, specification standards, and maintenance procedures across the product life cycle.
- Risk management and technical problem-solving
- Configuration management and technical documentation
- Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 10 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments.
- Experience supporting system development, integration, and/or sustainment activities.
Skills:
- Current Top Secret clearance.
- Experience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems).
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series.
