Environmental Consultant
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Consultant to support the Mining and Mitigation Program in Tallahassee, providing technical review and evaluation of mining, reclamation, stormwater, and Environmental Resource Permitting projects. The role involves conducting detailed technical reviews of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, evaluating wetland and floodplain impacts, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The position requires field inspections and site visits throughout Florida, with a standard 40-hour work week.
Key qualifications- Valid driver s license
- At least 5 years of verifiable related experience in environmental, hydrologic, or water resource management
- Knowledge of hydrologic, hydraulic, hydrogeologic, and stormwater management principles
- Ability to review and evaluate engineering reports and technical studies for regulatory consistency
- Ability to conduct field inspections and site evaluations of mining and reclamation projects
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including preparation of technical reports
