Location: Orlando
Aerodyne Industries Careers seeks a Senior Civil / Structural Analyst to support NASA and human spaceflight programs in Merritt Island, FL. In this role, you will lead advanced linear and nonlinear structural analyses for ground support structures, facilities, and mission-critical hardware. You will build and validate finite element models, assess factors of safety, and ensure compliance with NASA, AISC, and ASCE standards.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support design reviews, anomaly investigations, and flight readiness decisions in a mission-driven, collaborative environment where your expertise directly impacts national space exploration initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform linear and nonlinear structural analyses for civil and aerospace-related facilities and components supporting NASA missions
- Develop, validate, and document finite element models for complex structural systems under dynamic, thermal, and launch loads
- Evaluate structural integrity, factors of safety, and compliance with NASA, AISC, and ASCE codes and standards
- Prepare clear technical reports, calculations, and presentations for internal reviews and customer stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, systems, and operations teams to support design, test, and flight-readiness decisions
- Support failure investigations, design changes, and risk assessments with data-driven structural evaluations
- Review drawings, specifications, and models to ensure structural requirements are properly captured and verified
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of analysis tools, methods, and best practices
Required Skills
- Finite element analysis (FEA)
- Structural dynamics and vibration analysis
- Civil/structural design codes (AISC, ASCE, IBC)
- Load calculations and combinations for aerospace/industrial facilities
- ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus or similar tools
- Structural steel and reinforced concrete design
- Fatigue, fracture, and non-linear analysis
- Technical report writing and documentation
- CAD/model review and interpretation
- Data analysis and test correlation
