Location: Tallahassee
This Environmental Specialist III position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Waste Management performs technical and regulatory review of complex environmental assessment and remediation projects for Department of Defense (DOD) contaminated sites and Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS). The role serves as Remedial Project Manager, coordinating with federal agencies including the EPA and USACE to ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and requires strong communication, technical expertise, and project management skills.
- Four years of verifiable related experience in engineering, environmental science, or natural sciences
- Knowledge of site assessment techniques, monitoring well construction, and hazardous waste sampling
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for federal facilities and DOD/FUDS oversight
- Skill in evaluating and interpreting scientific/technical environmental data
- Ability to write effectively and evaluate comprehensive technical documents
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel for field work oversight and meetings
