Director; Ross OverDrive Operator

The ideal candidate has a creative vision and does more than follow a producer’s rundown. They help create our newscasts and other special programming, catching mistakes before they hit air. Directors are expected to seek new ways to shoot talent, explore lighting, special effects, and other creative elements in our programming.

Minimum of 2 years prior directing and/or technical directing experience is required. Operation and/or training on Ross Over Drive automation system is a plus.

• Lead a crew in executing an innovative live broadcast format on a multi‑venue set with a heavy emphasis on local and satellite live remotes.
• Work with state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
• Effective use of iNEWS, Ross Over Drive, production switchers, XPression graphics system, and Avid Command is helpful but not required.

• Experience directing and/or technical directing for at least two years.
• Familiarity with Ross Over Drive automation system (training experience considered a plus).
• Proficiency with production switchers, graphics systems, and command consoles.
• Strong creative vision and problem‑solving skills.
• Not an entry‑level position.
