Job Title:
Collections Analyst
Position Summary
The Collections Analyst manages credit risk and collections for an assigned customer portfolio. This role evaluates creditworthiness, sets and adjusts credit limits, and ensures timely payment while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to resolve account issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements and credit data to assess risk and recommend credit decisions.
- Approve or recommend credit limits and payment term adjustments (authority level based on experience).
- Manage collections activities, including outreach on delinquent accounts and escalation to third-party agencies when necessary.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, A/R, and Legal teams to resolve credit and payment issues.
- Maintain relationships with external financing partners.
- Contribute to process improvements; senior-level analysts may assist with credit policy development.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Analyst: 3+ years of commercial credit and collections experience.
- Senior Analyst: 7+ years of experience with higher credit authorization authority.
- Strong financial statement analysis and knowledge of commercial credit practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
