Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our client's Finance team. This role plays a vital part in supporting financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, credit evaluation, and strategic projects. You’ll help drive decision-making by delivering financial models, dashboards, and reporting that provide actionable insights. The position reports directly to the FP&A Manager and works cross-functionally with teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze trends in revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and capital expenditures, identifying drivers behind variances and recommending solutions.
- Prepare, review, and distribute recurring financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards using enterprise performance management (EPM) tools (e.g., Planful, Power BI).
- Support the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning through forecasting and scenario modeling.
- Evaluate the financial health of commercial counter parties by preparing credit analyses, monitoring loan compliance, and assessing portfolio risk.
- Provide financial projections, loan covenant tracking, profitability studies, and risk assessments for internal stakeholders.
- Deliver clear, concise communication to internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure all financial reporting and analysis complies with internal controls and confidentiality standards.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required.
- 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience building dynamic financial models and forecasting tools.
- Familiarity with EPM platforms (Planful preferred) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise finance systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus).
- Basic understanding of commercial credit, financial statement analysis, and financial covenant monitoring.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and initiative.
- Interest in learning new industries, systems, and tools that support finance and operations.
