The Director of Finance is responsible for leading and managing the organization's day-to-day financial execution, strategy, planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting functions while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and organizational growth. This role serves as a key business partner to operational leaders, providing financial insight, performance analysis, and recommendations that drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term success.
The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring financial execution, accuracy, reporting integrity, and alignment between the finance / accounting department and corporate operations while aligning strategic financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and manage day-to-day financial operations of the company.
- Manage accounting and financial personnel.
- Manage daily cash flow and reporting.
- Manage daily execution of payables, receivables, invoicing, cash management, banking, and reporting of financial activity.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial transactions.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, expansion opportunities, and organizational growth.
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and monitor executive dashboards.
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, service lines, acquisitions, and capital investments.
- Assist in developing long-term financial strategies and growth plans.
- Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support organizational objectives.
- Provide financial guidance related to operational efficiency, labor utilization, and profitability.
- Work with and establish banking and vendor relationships to ensure financial strength and stability.
- Advise and assist with setting pricing and cost modeling in support of profit and margin objectives for all products and services.
- Collaborate with operations leaders to develop and monitor location-level and department-level budgets and measure against actual performance.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, productivity, and staffing metrics.
- Collaborate with RCM (revenue cycle management) team with billing, receivables, collections, and RCM financial analysis and performance reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational effectiveness.
- Assist leadership in evaluating compensation structures, staffing models, resource allocation, and other financial objectives.
- Provide industry-standard, compliant, accurate financial statements and reports on a periodic basis.
- Identify and develop other financial reports and analysis to support the organization.
- Work closely with the leadership team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support audit activities and financial reviews as needed.
- Develop financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of financial reporting across all departments and locations.
- Build strong relationships across departments and serve as a trusted financial advisor.
- Mentor and develop finance and accounting team members.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced financial certification preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience as a Controller or Director of Finance, leading financial, accounting, FP&A, or related functions.
- Experience leading accounting or finance team.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in cash management, cash forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience presenting financial information to internal and external audiences, executive leadership.
- Experience with large, multi-site ABA or behavioral health, or similar service-based healthcare industry preferred.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Level Two Background Check.
