Loan Officer / Lending, Credit Analyst, Loan Servicing
The Commercial Loan Officer II is responsible for extending credit within the policies and guidelines set forth in the loan policy. This position ensures that all loan decisions, actions, and recommendations are based on an accurate and thorough understanding of each customer's financial needs and conditions and comply with all laws, regulations, and bank policies. The Commercial Loan Officer II must properly administer the creditworthiness and documentation of all loans and/or borrowing relationships originated or assigned to the officer.
Further, it is the officer's responsibility to maintain current credit files and proper note and collateral security documents.
- Assign the proper credit rating to loans as defined in policy at origination and as conditions change.
- Recommend approval and administer workout programs for problem loans.
- Recommend approval and monitor levels of reserves for loans serviced by the officer.
- Administer the collection process either internally or with bank counsel, complying with all laws and regulations.
- Protect depositors' funds and stockholder equity.
- Generate earnings for the bank and its stockholders.
- Promote and maintain a favorable image for the bank.
- Interview loan applicants and make credit decisions.
- Develop new business and manage the existing portfolio.
- Collect past‑due loans, keeping credit and collateral exceptions within policy ranges.
- Manage a portfolio of loans and coordinate collection efforts.
Correspond with customers.
Broad knowledge of accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four‑year college degree plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 4 years related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills- Communication:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; present information to managers, clients, and the general public. - Mathematical:
Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. - Critical thinking:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats.
- College degree in general business, finance, economics, or accounting.
- Five (5) years lending experience.
- Five (5) years experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis.
- Two (2) years experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- General computer skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- May require use of a vehicle to service customers.
