Financial Accounts Technician

The duties of the Financial Technician include but are not limited to:

• Serves as the primary administrative, technical and budget support for the facility's travel program,
• Plans and carries out procedures when travelers do not comply with regulations.
• Monitors and facilitates the travel card program.
• Examines incoming requests for completeness, verifies accounting codes, item descriptions, and estimated costs, and uses web-based systems to identify sources of supply.
• Serves as the Agency/Organization Program Coordinator (AOPC) for the Government Travel Charge Card Program, ensuring compliance with VA Financial Policy and GSA Smart Pay requirements.
• Resolves travel problems, explains aspects of the travel program and generally assist all VA and non-VA employees in travel status.
• Applies established procedures to standard travel scenarios; refers complex or unusual cases for high level review.

Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
