Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join our team in the Accounting and Finance industry. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team and manage a book of business in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities, including tax planning, compliance, and research. This position requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and strategic way.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a leader who can effectively manage and mentor a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the tax team to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of tax services to our clients.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, and gifts.
  • Manage and grow a book of business by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients, including advising on potential tax implications of business decisions.
  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide clear and concise explanations and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reports.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies and policies that minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure that the team is updated on these changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years progressive experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
  • Proven experience in managing a book of business and leading a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations related to high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, and gifts.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to clients and team members.
