Job Overview
The Records Technician retrieves and disseminates public record information, processes public requests in accordance with Florida state statutes, and handles payments and receipts for services.
Key Responsibilities- Retrieve and disseminate public record information per Florida statutes.
- Process public requests, receive payments, and provide receipts.
- Maintain accurate and complete case files.
- Work in a time-sensitive, highly confidential environment.
- Communicate information verbally and in writing to citizens, courts, and colleagues.
- Interpret public records laws and exemptions.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Computer literacy, including inputting and retrieving information.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking to read and interpret statutes.
- Ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree with a minimum of 60 credit hours, or a Wonderlic Basic Skills Test score of 248+ in Verbal and 241+ in Quantitative.
- For Law Enforcement Deputies/Recruits: additional qualifications and minimum passing scores of Verbal 267 and Quantitative 241.
Applicants will be subject to comprehensive background investigation, polygraph, medical, drug, tobacco, and psychological examinations. Untruthful or omitted information results in automatic disqualification.
BenefitsLong Term salary: $76,918.00.
