A high school diploma and eight years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, or administrative work. A bachelor’s degree can substitute for four of the eight years of experience.
Responsibilities- Acts as the Business Manager for the Aquatic Habitat Conservation and Restoration (AHCR) Section, assisting leadership in accomplishing objectives of the Section and agency goals.
- Provides administrative, budgetary, purchasing, and personnel support, advising higher level management on programmatic and operational issues.
- Recommends improvements to the Section Leader and Subsection leaders, working with them to resolve problems.
- Serves as AHCR HR Liaison contact for Human Resources, including job advertisements, updating position descriptions, interviews, and other HR matters.
- Acts as timekeeper for the section, approving timesheets for Section staff.
- Interprets statutory and agency rules, regulations, and policies, ensuring compliance and updating staff on new or revised policies related to purchasing, IT, customer service, and property.
- Provides internal operating and Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) budget oversight for AHCR, preparing budgets, workplans, expense corrections, FCO releases, and summary reports.
- Develops and amends contracts and administrative agreements between state, federal, local governments, and private sector companies, ensuring requirements met and processed efficiently.
- Serves as first line approver for the Section’s Purchase Order requests and works across FWC’s organizational structure on teams or directed projects.
- Supervises, plans workloads, directs work, communicates with employees, and provides training and evaluation to ensure productivity.
- Performs other related work as required.
- Ability to coordinate a consultative program designed to resolve managerial and operational problems.
