Working Title:

This is a highly responsible professional position that serves as the Division's Special Projects Coordinator and works under the direction of the Division of Elder Opportunities Director to coordinate strategic initiatives, community partnerships, public education efforts, research activities, and special projects that support the Division's mission and priorities.
PayThe hourly rate will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects- Conduct research and environmental scans to identify emerging trends, best practices, funding opportunities, and innovative approaches related to aging services, fraud prevention, disaster preparedness, volunteer engagement, digital literacy, and other Division priorities. Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of new programs, initiatives, and service delivery models.
- Develop project plans, timelines, reports, presentations, briefing materials, and recommendations for leadership. Monitor project progress, identify barriers to implementation, and recommend corrective actions to support successful project outcomes. Assist with policy development, process improvement activities, and continuous quality improvement efforts designed to enhance program effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Provide research, analysis, and technical support for special projects, legislative requests, Legislative Budget Requests, budget development activities, grant proposals, executive assignments, strategic planning initiatives, and other Division priorities. Assist in preparing executive correspondence, presentations, reports, briefing materials, and other documents for agency leadership, external stakeholders, and elected officials.
- Conduct research and analysis of comparable state, federal, and national programs to identify best practices, emerging trends, and opportunities for program enhancement. Develop recommendations to support leadership decision‑making and the successful implementation of Division initiatives.
- Coordinate and participate in community outreach activities, stakeholder meetings, conferences, workshops, and special events to educate the public and increase awareness of aging services, elder rights, fraud prevention, disaster preparedness, digital safety, volunteer opportunities, and other Division priorities.
- Coordinate with the OVCS Coordinator and other Division staff to support volunteer engagement, training activities, outreach initiatives, special events, and other collaborative projects.
- Develop and deliver presentations, educational programs, and technical assistance to community groups, professional organizations, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in developing outreach materials, educational resources, toolkits, communication materials, and public awareness campaigns that support Division initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand community engagement and partnership development efforts. Coordinate information sharing among internal and external stakeholders and assist in establishing collaborative partnerships that enhance service delivery.
- Represent the Division at meetings, conferences, work groups, and public events as assigned. Maintain knowledge of community resources and partner organizations to facilitate collaboration, referral pathways, and coordinated service delivery for older Floridians.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of public education and awareness initiatives designed to improve safety, well‑being, and independence of older adults throughout Florida.
- Coordinate activities associated with statewide awareness campaigns, educational programs, community engagement initiatives, and special projects. Assist in developing educational materials, presentations, outreach resources, toolkits, training materials, and communication content to increase public awareness.
