Position: OPS PURCHASING SPECIALIST - 80900766
Location: Tallahassee

DESCRIPTION

You will use the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) e-Procurement system to:

  • Review and approve all PRs submitted through MFMP to ensure compliance with FS 287 and Rule 60A, including Florida Statutes, Department of Management Services purchasing rules, IT requirements, and department policies.
  • Ensure that all necessary exemptions and approvals (single source, emergency purchase, contracts, communication approval, Certified Minority Business Enterprise exceptions, etc.) are obtained as required.
  • Review requisitions for correct commodity codes, method of procurement, dates, etc., and verify pricing against quotes, State Term Contract or Agency Term Contracts.
  • Provide technical assistance, in-service training, and consultation to department personnel regarding procurement standards, policies, rules, and Florida statutes.
  • Serve as the Agency's MFMP Administrator: add, update, or deactivate agency users; add users to email groups and maintain them; reset passwords; act as liaison between DJJ and MFMP.

Performs other related duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • OPS employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short-term or intermittent tasks.
  • OPS employees are at-will and may be subject to pay changes, assignment changes, and terminations at the recommendation of the employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
  • Principles and practices of purchasing.
  • Research and analyze specifications, conditions, and regulations for bids, contracts, and prices.
  • Apply and implement rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the purchasing process.
  • Document specifications, conditions, and regulations for bids, contracts, and prices.
  • Maintain purchasing records.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Skilled in personal computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High School diploma.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sex offender check, criminal background checks, and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of hire if initially out of state.
