Position Details

Senior Management Analyst II – SES (Pay Plan: SES, Salary: $2,073.74 biweekly,

Location:

Inspector General’s Office – non‑remote). This exempt position is confidential and may require travel.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations pursuant to Section 20.055 and Section 112.3187‑112.31895 of the Florida Statutes, employing logical steps to prove or disprove allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or employee misconduct.
  • Maintain meticulous case files (electronic and hard copy) and document all investigative activities, including notes, interview memorandums, investigative plans, and evidence acquisition per Chapter 90, Florida Evidence Code.
  • Prepare affidavits, investigative briefings, and comprehensive reports consistent with the Green Book standards.
  • Review and interpret statutes concerning confidentiality, Whistle‑blower investigations, HIPAA, and PHI, assessing their impact on OIG operations.
  • Plan, manage, and execute investigations, inquiries, and management reviews, identifying violations of statutes, administrative codes, policies, procedures, or contracts.
  • Provide briefings and training to agency managers, employees, and industry partners to promote awareness of fraud, misconduct, and the role of the Inspector General.
  • Develop and maintain liaison relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and industry partners; report suspicions of potential criminal violations and coordinate referrals.
  • Present findings to law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and other stakeholders; testify in criminal or civil court proceedings, or administrative hearings when called upon.
  • Assist other bureaus, regulators, and agencies with investigative activities as directed by the Chief of Investigations or Inspector General.
  • Recommend and implement policies, procedures, and preventative fraud and abuse measures.
  • Develop and enforce investigative standards related to accreditation activities; administer accreditation process management.
  • Maintain all required training, continuing education, and certification as established by the Agency or Inspector General.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time investigative experience detecting and investigating employee misconduct, fraud, waste, program abuse, mismanagement, malfeasance, violations of law, rule or policy, or workplace discrimination.
  • Familiarity with investigative standards in an OIG, including Section 20.055, the Green Book, CFA investigation standards, or other applicable professional investigative standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
