The position is a Government Operations Consultant II, located in the Tallahassee Area. The role requires a Monday through Friday, 8‑hour daily work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications- A minimum of two years of professional experience in Federal or State of Florida contractual management and procurement, including adherence to government contract laws, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes governing governmental procurement, contracts, and/or grants.
- Professional experience in a government procurement role (e.g., procurement officer, contract manager, or contract administrator).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Submission of a resume and cover letter; candidates who do not provide both will not be considered.
- Professional experience in providing training on procurement matters.
- Florida Certified Contract Manager and/or Certified Negotiator designation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience applying Florida Government procurement rules, Sunshine Laws, Open Government, and Public Records statutes.
Initial screening will be based on responses to qualifying questions, verified through the State of Florida employment application.
Responsibilities- Assist with the procurement of agency contracts and grants, ensuring proper procurement procedures are followed.
- Advise and support the Policy Team in developing procurement processes and policies.
- Conduct detailed reviews of solicitation documents to ensure compliance with policies, rules, and statutes.
- Develop and deliver training to Department staff.
- Provide technical assistance to procurement and contract staff on all contract‑related issues.
- Maintain electronic postings related to procurements and public meetings.
- Ensure appropriate approvals for various procurement types.
- Act as the Procurement Officer on solicitations.
- Knowledge of governmental procurement and contract law.
- Knowledge of statutes and rules surrounding governmental procurement and contracting.

Some travel may be required. Candidates must be willing and able to use a personal vehicle for work‑related travel.
Background Screening Requirement: All applicants must complete a State and National criminal history check before employment. Background investigations include fingerprinting through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Employees are subject to re‑screening at least every five years. No applicant may begin employment until the background investigation results are received and approved.
