Position Summary
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing Supervisory Crime Intelligence Analyst (CIA) services related to the detailed research and analysis of confidential law enforcement and domestic security intelligence and criminal investigative information in order to identify, analyze, collate, and disseminate to key stakeholders. The member will also review and approve strategic or tactical products being disseminated on behalf of the Florida Fusion Center or its nodes, supervise the dissemination and/or response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from partner agencies, and liaise with executive personnel representing internal and external agency stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities- Supervising CIAs of various rank assigned to the Strategic Intelligence Analysis Center (SIAC).
- Overseeing the activities of the SIAC, research, compilation, and dissemination of finished intelligence, and making recommendations to management regarding emerging and sustained criminal threats to the State of Florida.
- Working closely with the Florida Fusion Center Network to ensure effective sharing of analytical findings and applicable intelligence products, directing the gathering and sharing of emerging threat intelligence concerning all crimes, all hazards and high‑profile incidents potentially impacting the State of Florida and/or the greater community.
- Performing routine supervisory duties consistent with FDLE Policies and Procedures.
- Nine years of analytical experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a master’s degree, professional certificate, or vocational/technical training that can substitute for the required experience as described.
- At least two years completion of the FDLE Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) within two years of hire date.
- Any combination of education or experience that totals nine years.
- Knowledge of the intelligence cycle, the criminal justice system, basic management principles, and FDLE programs and functions.
- Ability to supervise people, determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of assignments.
- Effective communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and independent working skills.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to management analysis activities.
- Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports and other written materials.
