Government Operations Consultant III

Overview

This Government Operations Consultant III position manages contracts and grants for Florida's Rural Infrastructure Fund program within Florida Commerce. The role involves developing contract and grant administration procedures, monitoring sub-grants, conducting site visits, reviewing applications and compliance documentation, and providing technical assistance to local governments. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in improving processes and coordinates with multiple department offices including General Counsel and Financial Management.

• Manage contracts and grants for the Rural Infrastructure Fund program within Florida Commerce.
• Develop contract and grant administration procedures.
• Monitor sub-grants and conduct site visits.
• Review applications and compliance documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to local governments.
• Coordinate with multiple department offices including General Counsel and Financial Management; exercise independent judgment to improve processes.

• Working knowledge of developing, administering and monitoring State and/or Federal grants and contracts.
• Ability to interpret statutes, administrative rules, and federal regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to coordinate and manage activities with multiple partners and handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to conduct research, provide reports and analyses, and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
