Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs, the Student Affairs and Federal Compliance Officer has major responsibility for statewide compliance of federal programs and providing technical assistance and guidance in specific areas within student affairs. The person assigned to this position oversees compliance monitoring related to civil rights for the Florida College System and conducts policy analysis, development, and implementation systemwide.

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:

  • Manages and conducts the USDOE Office of Civil Rights (OCR) Compliance Site Visits (3 per year) and the OCR Biennial Report
  • Serving as the liaison with the Florida College System on all issues related to federal programs.
  • Prepares analyses of current state and federal statutes, rules, policy statements and any needed revisions to statutes, rules and policy affecting civil rights in the Florida College System.
  • Conducts policy analysis and program evaluation for institutions within the Florida College System in regard to state and federal non-discrimination and civil rights compliance at the local level.
