The Compliance Specialist works within the Florida Division of Emergency Management's Bureau of Recovery, conducting compliance monitoring and risk assessments for applicants and subrecipients of state and federal grant programs. Responsibilities include subrecipient monitoring, procurement reviews, technical assistance on federal and state emergency management grants, audit tracking, and ensuring Bureau compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The position is located in Tallahassee, FL and supports FDEM's mission of coordinating disaster response and recovery efforts.
Keyqualifications
- Ability to monitor contractor/recipient/subrecipient compliance with program requirements through financial and program deliverables review
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and utilize problem-solving techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and provide technical assistance to local governments
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local government roles and responsibilities in emergency response and disaster management
- Ability to perform quality research and work effectively in team and individual environments
