Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 1st Special Operations Wing.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
* Represents the 1st Special Operations Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
* Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the IG Inspections directorate/division/section, ensuring that the commander's inspection program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets command intent and satisfies customer needs.
* Plans, organizes, and executes a wide range of complex activities for the Wing Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP), and the Exercise and Evaluation Program. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* May be required to occasionally travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the normal duty station.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
* This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* IAW AF guidance, incumbent must attend the USAF Basic Inspectors Course for Unit Effectiveness Inspection (UEI) or Commander's Inspection Programs (CCIP) (as appropriate) within 90 days (180 days for ARC) of assignment to an IG position;
- (cont'd) * (Cont'd) - and Wing IG inspectors of nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspectors Course within 180 days of assignment to an IG team. Completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD and AF regulations.
* This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. * "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for General Inspection Investigation Enforcement and Compliance Series, 1801.
SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of Public Laws, Executive Orders, DoD Regulations, Air Force Instructions, and other issues related to the inspection process, to include DoD and AF administrative and inspection policies, procedures, techniques, and practices, as well as public information release and denial determinations (Freedom Of Information Act, Official Use Request, Privacy Act, etc.).
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
