office of the inspector general.
the mission of the office of the inspector general (oig) at the florida department of corrections is to protect and promote public integrity and accountability within the department through investigations, audits, and inspections. We aim to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct.
this position is not a telework position and is required to report to the fdc office in the area it serves. job duties
  • conducts statewide, multi-location financial, compliance and/or performance audits or reviews of assigned areas.
  • conduct investigations and special project as assigned.
  • conducts exit briefings with management staff upon completion of project field work providing them with exceptions and recommendations.

the florida department of corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a level 2 background check as per chapter 435, florida statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
