POSITION LOCATION:
Tallahassee, FL (relocation benefits are not available for this position)
Supports unit supervisor with coordinating unit projects and assignments across all program operations assigned to the unit related to jobseekers, employers and other constituents.
Supports unit supervisor in training new staff on program requirements.
Manages and provides oversight of local workforce development board and local workforce development area policy, training and technical assistance for program operations.
Reviews and analyzes federal and state laws to create policy, processes, and procedures to provide local workforce development boards and local workforce development areas on programmatic requirements.
Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to leadership on improving and creating efficiencies to programmatic processes and procedures.
Coordinates, communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure that local board programmatic policies and practices comply with federal and state requirements.
Provides technical assistance, programmatic training and compliance related training, as needed.
Contributes to and reviews local workforce development board local operating procedures to ensure all programmatic requirements align with and are in compliance with federal and state laws and state policies.
Makes recommendations regarding promising and best practices to management and LWDBs to support program efficiency and effectiveness.
Serves as liaison between the Policy & Guidance and Programmatic Monitoring units regarding trends that impact both units.
Performs other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the workforce development programs.
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint, etc.).
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques to make decisions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret program data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities related to the improvement of operational and management practices.
- Ability to prepare and deliver training presentations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to conduct extensive research.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Florida Commerce.
- Travel may be required.
Preferred :
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or four years of equivalent work experience that is relevant to this position.
- At least two years of experience researching federal and state statutes, regulations and other governing authorities for a state or federal-funded program.
- At least two years of experience providing training and technical assistance for a state or federal-funded program.
- At least two years of direct experience working with workforce programs.
- Professional writing experience.
Pay:
$50,000-$60,000 Annually
