Correctional Officer Lieutenant
The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Correctional Officer Lieutenant for an internal promotional opportunity at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, Florida. This position is open exclusively to current FDC employees. The salary for this position is $59,623.72 annually. Minimum qualifications include being at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, possessing a high school diploma or equivalent, having completed the basic recruit training course for correctional officers, and having one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida. Additionally, candidates must not have received a suspension within the past 12 months, an involuntary demotion within the past 24 months, or a rating less than 3.00 on a performance evaluation within the past three fiscal years.
Specific duties and responsibilities include supervising correctional officers and officers sergeants, planning and organizing shift activities, conducting performance evaluations, managing inmate housing areas, enforcing rules and sanitation standards, and providing emergency assistance during emergencies and disasters.
