Code Enforcement Technician - R15523

Are you someone that loves to help inform the community and ensure compliance is happening? We are looking for a Code Enforcement Technician to assist our Planning and Development Services Department.

• Reviews and/or Prepares Notices of Violations for the Officer and perfects service via certified mail.
• Reviews Affidavit of Violation prior to submittal to the Office of County Attorney.
• Determines legal descriptions and property ownership from Tax Collector, Property Appraiser Records and Clerk of Court.
• Provides necessary research for the Code Enforcement Officer related to parcels that are in violation.
• Provides necessary data input, attaches pertinent documents and creates cases in the computer tracking system.
• Communicates with abatement contractor(s) regarding abatements of violations.
• Prepares supporting documents for case investigations.
• Compiles information for public records requests.
• Updates the Code of Ordinances of Sarasota County Florida with administered supplements.

Hours:

Monday
-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• A High School Diploma or its equivalent
• 2 to 5 years of clerical experience.
• An Associate's Degree can substitute for the required experience

• One year of experience in code enforcement is preferred
• Related Professional Certification preferred
• FACE Certification

Pay: $16.75 - $18.50
