this position is a member of the office of inspector general, accountability section, policy and accreditation unit. This position will be a point of contact for written directives (policies, procedures and directing memorandums).

If so, the office of inspector general (oig) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated government analyst ii to join our team.

this position plays a key role in ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely updates to written directives. You will provide assistance to the accreditation manager to ensure the department stays in compliance with national and state best practices and accreditation standards. You will have the unique opportunity to evaluate law enforcement operations, provide critical insights, and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department.

Your work will directly influence the department’s ability to meet its mission of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

duties & responsibilities:

specific duties include:

  • serving as a department directive coordinator;
  • coordinating the department directive process and updates;
  • assisting department staff with the creation and implementation of policies, procedures and directing memorandums;
  • assisting with the distribution and acknowledgment of written directives via powerdms;
  • staffing and supporting the policy and accreditation review committee (parc);
  • assisting with accreditation process on various issues on an as needed basis;
  • remaining current in all accreditation matters, including proposed changes to calea and cfa standards;
  • responsible for records retention of department policies and procedures; and
  • providing assistance to staff on projects and meetings as needed.
knowledge, skills & abilities:
  • ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively verbally and in writing;
  • ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, within extremely tight time frames and multiple, overlapping deadlines;
  • ability to initiate and maintain interactive relationship in order to effectively explain the directive process and related concepts to department executives and decision makers;
  • ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, departmental staff, and representatives of other organizations and agencies;
  • ability to pay attention to detail;
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of information;
  • ability to understand and interpret rules, regulations, and policies;
  • skill in proof-reading documents and making appropriate corrections;
  • knowledge of law enforcement operations, procedures, and regulations; and
  • knowledge of techniques and principles of report writing and presentation.

base salary:
  • $53,917.24
