Minimum RequirementsA high school diploma or its equivalent and four (4) years of experience as an Environmental Specialist I or higher with the State of Florida; or A bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the physical or natural sciences, agriculture, or engineering and five (5) years of professional experience in environmental protection, regulation or health;
one of the physical or natural sciences, agriculture, or engineering; or A master's degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university in one of the physical or natural sciences, agriculture, or engineering and four (4) years of professional experience as described above; or A doctorate (8 years) from an accredited college or university in one of the physical or natural sciences, agriculture or engineering and two (2) years of professional experience as described above.
Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

Graduates utilizing education attained in the United States to meet the minimum requirements of a position will not be appointed until verification of the applicable degree has been obtained. Additional RequirementsThe incumbent of this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36, FAC. Frequent travel required. Must be willing and able to be deployed from assigned headquarters for extended periods in support of incident response or other operational needs.

This position manages the Administrative Section in the Bureau of Inspection and Incident Response and supervises the manager of the Inspection Coordination Section, ensuring effective management of case file intake, customer service functions, personnel actions, travel, purchase requests, and related activities. The incumbent spends majority of their time communicating with, motivating, providing, or coordinating training, and directing the work of subordinates.
