This position serves as the Department Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Titles II and III of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Coordinator located within the Safety Section, under the Division of Administrative Services. Primary responsibilities will include conducting organizational studies and evaluations on office procedures providing technical assistance and developing procedures to assist the program to operate more efficiently and effectively.

• Responsible for promoting accessibility and inclusion for the Department by making well-informed policy recommendations which are supported by ongoing research related to applicable laws, regulations, standards and guidelines. Prioritize corrective actions to meet compliance and resolve access issues for Florida State Park natural areas, cultural resources, at park facilities, Resilience and Coastal Protection, and other department owned buildings and property and ensure facilities, programs and services are accessible to, and usable, by all people, including those with unique abilities in a safe manner.
  
  Reviews construction plans to ensure they will be able to meet access requirements. Promote accessibility, inclusion and safety awareness and education by developing, implementing, and evaluating training resources and activities. Provides guidance on the agency’s ADA Transition Plans.
• Assists with performing highly complex administrative/analytical work for the department having regional and statewide impact. Reports to and briefs the Agency’s Safety and Loss Control Officer on matters related to health, safety, ADA, security, and continuity of operations. Assists with establishing and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment in conformance with federal and state health and safety guidelines and in compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
• Reviews incident reports and incident investigations for accuracy and trends. Conduct safety inspections, safety analysis processes and operational safety reviews, as needed by the Agency Safety Officer.
• Develops and conducts training in health and safety topics including, but not limited to, job safety analyses, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and building emergency plans. Assists with Floor Warden meetings and training as necessary.
• Participate in Safety Advisory Board, Diving Safety Advisory and Boating Safety Advisory Board meetings.
• Assists with managing the annual safety budget; ensuring all funds are properly spent and coordinates with the Safety Officer to approve all spending requests.
• Tracks and coordinates all Fire Marshal Inspection and Risk reports.
• Voluntarily dives/snorkels as needed not required.
• Assists with the Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan, Medical Monitoring, and safety publication updates.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
