Clinical Support Technician Responsibilities
  • Supervise clients' therapeutic and recreational activities, monitor client break periods and movement, intervene to control or channel inappropriate behaviors, conduct rounds, take census counts, and report observations, incidents, unusual occurrences, missing residents, or physical symptoms to appropriate personnel while recording improvement and progress.
  • Upon completion of required internal training, provide didactic sessions according to designated curricula within the program, including delivering chemical‑dependency education and life‑skills classes to assist clients with basic education on these topics.
  • Guide and assist clients in complying with Center rules and regulations, initiate evening meeting or morning wake‑up routines, and notify personnel of residents failing to comply with Center policies and rules.
  • Maintain and update client records, including clinical hours, therapeutic treatments, activity or group participation, job‑readiness progress, etc., in accordance with all local, state, and federal contractual requirements.
  • Serve as a member of the treatment team, providing input to treatment plans, discipline protocols, conflict‑intervention processes, or privileges, and assist the team in maintaining consistent settings for treatment and planning client interaction events.
  • Perform variety of related office and technical duties, such as answering telephones, relaying messages, responding to inquiries regarding program services and policies, filing, photocopying, faxing documents, planning special events, assembling intake packets, participating in client activities to promote socialization, overseeing client telephone calls, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or if placed as residential staff, 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM with 1‑hour lunches.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalency with two (2) years of prior experience in the substance‑abuse field; or
  • An Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in any unrelated area of study from an accredited institution and one (1) year of experience in the counseling or chemical‑addictions field; or
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any of the social sciences.
  • General knowledge of the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning level of the client population; and the demonstrated ability to appropriately interact, tailor interventions—including de‑escalation techniques—and communicate with clients based on their individual maturation level.
