The incumbent in this position may reside anywhere in the State of Florida.

Please note occasional travel to local field offices and/or agency headquarters in Tallahassee is required.

Field Offices are located in the following cities:
Tallahassee, Alachua, Jacksonville, Clearwater, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Delray Beach, and Miami.

The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida.

These surveys ensure that all state licensed, and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care.

Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.

This individual is a professional nurse licensed in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and performs complex administrative and consultative functions for the Health Quality Assurance, Bureau of Field Operations, Survey and Certification Support Branch under the supervision of the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor.

This position has been identified as mission essential.

The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays.

In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.

Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.

Emergency duties may include, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man‑made or natural.

The incumbent will work as a specialized team member which completes survey activities from home health agencies that serve medically fragile children.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, provision of training on patient care assessments and practices, leadership in the development of family caregivers as home health aides for medically fragile children education programs; assessment of learning and resource needs, establishment of an educational program for home health agencies serving medically fragile children; and consultation with other program personnel on nursing matters.

Clinical operations and issues will be coordinated with the Field Office Manager and other Division staff as appropriate.

Responds to and resolves queries related to home health agency regulation, with particular focus on those serving medically fragile children.

Provides verbal and written clarification and assistance to all Division staff and applicable health care providers regarding the use of family caregivers as home health aides for medically fragile children.

Directs decisions to elevate identified problems and clinical issues; prepares management reports.

This includes maintaining training manuals and procedures, managing confidential data, and identifying data accuracy problems.

Prepares training materials and conducts individual and group training and provides assistance to home health and Division staff related to training programs for family caregivers as home health aides for medically fragile children programs, including but not limited to, the survey and enforcement process, State Operations Manual revisions, interpretive guidelines, interpretation and use of outcome reports and other system reports, and coordination of training and survey related activities.

Performs project-based work as assigned including planning and coordination of surveyor training and participates in training events provided on the field office level, regional and/or statewide basis.
