Position Summary
In this highly visible, dynamic, and rewarding role, the individual will serve in a leadership capacity by building and maintaining strong professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinical teams. Responsibilities include educating medical staff, patients, families, and others in the community on the services offered by our hospital. In partnership with executive leadership, including the CEO, CNO, CFO, and Director of Case Management, the role supports strategic initiatives, service line expansion, and organization growth aligned with hospital objectives.
The position analyzes referral patterns and market data to identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for growth. This role develops and implements structured outreach plans to support referral activity and appropriate patient volume. In this position, the individual will spend much of their time out in the field - connecting with referral sources, understanding community needs, and serving a trusted resource for information about our programs and services.
This is a highly mobile position, with approximately 80% of work time spent driving to facilities and referral sources within a 20-30-mile radius. Regular travel is an essential function of the role.
- Promotes strong referral relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through, supporting referral satisfaction and continuity of partnerships.
- Analyses referral patterns and identifies opportunities to increase appropriate utilization of core service lines within our hospital. Develops measurable quarterly goals and objectives and reports progress to leadership.
- Works in partnership with the CEO/CNO/CFO, and Director of Case Management to assess opportunities for growth, service line expansion, and strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Establishes collaborative working relationships, delivers a high level of service, and provides ongoing education regarding the hospital's services.
- Evaluates market and territory-level data to identify emerging referral trends, service gaps, and opportunities for program growth within the assigned area.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance the hospital's positioning within the local healthcare continuum by aligning services with community and referral source needs.
- Develops and implements structured outreach plans to support referral activity and appropriate patient volume, utilizing referral tracking and development tools to guide follow-up and prioritization.
- Provides education to physicians, community partners, and referral sources regarding hospital programs, services, and admission criteria to ensure alignment with patient care needs.
- Must have knowledge of Medicare regulations.
- Current and valid driver's license in the employed state and an acceptable driving record.
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law.
- Must maintain dependable transportation in good working conditions.
- Familiarity with the local healthcare market preferred.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred or equivalent job experience.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in healthcare marketing. Minimum 1 year of experience as a liaison or successful sales experience in the healthcare environment preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel Spreadsheet.
