Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in the department of Experimental Radiation Oncology. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunities to work on various projects studying the roles of ferroptosis, disulfidptosis, and cuproptosis (three forms of cell death induced by lipid per oxidation, disulfide stress, and copper overloading, respectively) in tumor suppression and cancer therapy.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to perform various projects through wet laboratory benchwork. The knowledge gained will allow them to contribute to seminars, presentations and publications. In addition, they will learn scientific writing and management skills.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

Ph.D. or MD/PhD degree in biological sciences.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Experience in a biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or cancer biology laboratory. A track record of excellent first author publication during PhD training is essential.

Qualified candidates should have strong background in one or more of the following areas: molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, metabolism, cancer genetics, or using Mass Spectrometry-related technologies to study metabolism. We prefer candidates who are about to graduate with PhD or MD/PhD degree or have graduated within the last 12 months. A track record of excellent first author publication during PhD training is essential.
