- Utilize linked clinical datasets to examine relationships between genetic variation and health outcomes.
- Conduct literature review and evidence extraction to support gene- and variant-level curation for neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Contribute to data organization and quality control for curated gene lists, variant datasets, and phenotype annotations.
- Assist with database updates, including incorporation of new evidence and verification of existing entries.
- Participate in manuscript preparation, including drafting assigned sections, figure/table development, and reference management.
- Support grant-related activities, such as literature synthesis, preliminary data compilation, and methods documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (e.g., genetics, bioinformatics, clinical collaborators) and attend project meetings.
- Follow established standards for data rigor, reproducibility, and documentation.
- Mentor trainees or students as appropriate on discrete tasks, under senior guidance.
- Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) in genetics, genomics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, neuroscience, public health, or a related field conferred within the last five years.
- Strong foundation in human genetics or genomics or related scientific field.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical or computational tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, or equivalent).
- Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and synthesize findings across genetics and clinical domains.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to manuscripts, abstracts, or reports.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
- Familiarity with data privacy, ethics, and governance requirements for human health and genetic data.
- Demonstrated experience working with health record–derived clinical data (e.g., EHRs, data registries, or longitudinal clinical datasets).
- Experience with phenotypic data curation and harmonization, including diagnosis codes, clinical measures, or structured health outcomes.
- Experience conducting genotype–phenotype association or correlation analyses, including handling phenotypic heterogeneity.
- Exposure to longitudinal outcome analyses using clinical data.
- Experience supporting or contributing to NIH-funded research, including preliminary data generation or grant writing.
- Demonstrated interest in translational or clinically oriented genetic research.
- Prior mentoring of students or trainees on data analysis or curation tasks.
This position may require completion of a criminal history background check.
