Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH) in Chipley, FL is seeking a PRN experienced, energetic and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to provide exceptional care to patients in our Radiology Department.
Responsibilities- Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs and provide information to diagnose patient illnesses.
- Build rapport with patients and other personnel to identify service requirements.
- Maintain radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory, place orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- Stay current with professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in societies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.
- Reduce patient anxiety, explain procedures, and answer questions to gain cooperation.
- Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, and set exposure factors before procedures.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation for patients and staff.
- Adhere to infection control policies, administer first aid, and use the emergency cart.
- Follow established standards to produce quality radiographs, making adjustments as necessary.
- Document patient care services in patient and department records.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Support and promote the hospital’s mission, vision, and values, and maintain professional appearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school or two years of directly related experience.
- Proficiency with medical technologies and radiologic procedures.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, effective environment.
- Strong technical understanding and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Dependable, quality‑focused, and able to plan work effectively.
- Prefer 1+ year(s) experience; trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery experience preferred.
- New graduates are welcome.
- Valid state Radiologic Technologist license.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
