- Interviews potentially eligible clients via telephone and in person.
- Accurately and appropriately enters all WIC information into FL-Wise.
- Schedules clients with the appropriate appointment type for all eligible members of a family.
- Verifies WIC eligibility.
- Orients new clients to WIC providing information on rights and obligations, policies and procedures, use of WIC EBT card, and WIC clinic operations.
- Answers telephones in a timely manner and returns calls. Maintains accurate inventories.
- Obtains anthropometric and hematological data from clients as needed for all appointment types. Obtains immunization data and reviews for accuracy.
- Codes services in FL-Wise and HMS EATS accurately.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a health care team to maintain an effective working relationship.
- Ability to perform procedures common to the position.
- Ability to recognize areas of own practice that need improvement.
- Ability to teach clients in the program.
- Ability to bend, squat, stand, or sit for a prolonged amount of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication and ability to apply them.
- Knowledge of clinical and program practices, policies and procedures and ability to apply them.
- Computer knowledge and ability to include state software programs, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of leadership skills.
- Knowledge to recognize situations in which intervention is needed to improve clinic efficiency.
- Willingness to provide coverage at all Nassau/Baker WIC sites
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift at least 35 pounds
- Previous or current employment with WIC
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred
