How You Make a DifferenceThe LPN plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process under RN supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions in health care and housing units; contribute to individualized treatment planning and consult with RNs and staff.
- Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners, administer medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and perform diagnostic tests per protocol.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts at shift start, adhering to safety techniques and responding to codes or health emergencies.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document encounters using SOAP charting.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to professional development and adherence to policies.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Prefer a minimum of one year clinic experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Hold current licensure as LPN/LVN in the state of employment and maintain CPR certification.
