We are looking for an energetic, hard‑working, dependable, multi‑tasking Radiation Medical Assistant who is passionate about helping others and making a difference. Duties will vary on an as‑needed basis and must be diverse and able to adapt to changes in responsibilities.
Radiation Therapy ConciergeThe Radiation Therapy Concierge plays a leading role in the one‑of‑a‑kind department of radiation oncology at Water’s Edge Dermatology. This key individual is the face and representation of our department and provides the first impression for patients and educates, informs, and navigates patients through the entire treatment process. The role requires an energetic individual capable of multi‑tasking, with preferably a few years of healthcare and customer service experience and comfort with EHRs.
The position involves both administrative assistant roles (including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and facilitating consultations) as well as direct patient care—performing intake histories and examinations as well as weekly clinic visits along with providers). There may also be some basic nursing care to manage symptoms. Candidates must have an open mind, positive attitude, and team mentality. No prior oncology or radiation therapy experience is needed.
Functions
- Adheres to the Water’s Edge Mission Statement, Credo, and Service Goals and Values providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Checks in all patients and communicates with the radiation therapists to create a positive patient experience.
- Assist with wound care and clinical support, follows up on all Central Path referrals by contacting patients within 24 hours of the fax/prak/email; making the patient and Central Path aware of any delays caused by insurance verifications.
- Assist physician with patient exams and procedures, preparing exam rooms.
- Utilizes Aria software to enter patient information so that it is available on the Task Pad for use the next day.
- Verifies all patients in EMA to ensure that they are correctly entered and match Aria entries.
- Answers all email/praks and voice mails promptly.
- Orders supplies as needed as directed by RT Manager.
- Verifies all authorized visits and expiration dates of the authorizations for patients.
- Puts together new consult packets.
- Applies knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes to ensure coding and charge sheets are correct.
- Submits all coding sheets and charge sheets to the Billing Dept.
- Scan documents for file.
- Organizes work space in a professional and accessible manner.
- Order samples as per provider preference.
- Travel as needed to other practices.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Radiation experience is strongly preferred.
- 2 years experience in a medical office.
- Able to positively interact with patients.
- Must be able to take responsibility for actions.
- Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed.
- Must have the ability to use technology to perform job functions.
