Position: Associate Program Director (TEMP POSITION - ISUDT - PBSP)
Location: Crescent City

Associate Program Director (ISUDT)

Associate Program Director supports the Program Director and directly supervises Supervising Counselor(s) on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Be on-site during programming hours (vacation, sick leave, CDCR‑approved meetings, trainings, or State holidays are exceptions).
  • Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of program activities in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Provide oversight, training, and support to Supervising Counselor(s).
  • Coordinate monthly reports documenting counseling staff’s progress toward AOD certification.
  • Coordinate monthly staff training days with Supervising Counselor(s).
  • Support the Program Director as requested.
  • Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, and CDCR contracted staff.
  • Complete additional related duties as assigned by the Contractor.
Qualifications
  • Certified as an AOD Counselor with a DHCS‑approved organization and at least three (3) years of experience as a certified AOD Counselor.
  • AOD Certification.
  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.
  • Understanding of program curriculum, objectives, and best practices for implementation.
  • Knowledge of contractual requirements of ISUDTP is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and typing skills; operational knowledge of MS‑Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures related to substance abuse treatment participants.
  • Dedicate genuine warmth, empathy, and honesty to facilitate positive change.
  • Provide frequent acknowledgment and reinforcement for positive behaviors and consistent, predictable feedback for negative behaviors, reporting violations to CDCR staff when required.
  • Develop a treatment alliance with participants and maintain professional standards and ethical behavior.
  • Model professional, effective work habits and responsible living in interactions with faculty, institution staff, and program participants.

Compensation

$7,038 - $9,500 a month
