Job Summary

We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at Lake Placid Health & Rehab, a trusted part of the Lake Placid community for over 40 years. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our residents recover from illnesses, injuries, or surgeries, and regain their independence. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized speech therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each resident, including assessing and evaluating communication and swallowing disorders
  • Conduct speech therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of techniques and strategies to improve communication skills, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and communication
  • Provide education and support to residents, families, and caregivers on speech therapy techniques, communication strategies, and techniques for swallowing disorders
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress, and treatment plans

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or related field
  • Florida licensure or ability to obtain license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and electronic medical records
