Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team as a PRN employee! This position will provide coverage on weekends as needed.

Job SummaryPromotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Treats disabilities, injuries, and diseases as part of a patients rehabilitation program, according to the prescription of a physician, plan of care determined by a Physical Therapist, and with the various modalities and skills of the profession, in order to help improve patient mobility, function and strength.
This is a PRN position.
- Responsible for carrying out treatment in accordance with the physician's prescription, and as planned/ documented by a supervising Physical Therapist. Assists patients in preparing for therapy and return trips.
- Assist with removing and putting on braces or supportive equipment, prosthesis or crutches.
- Responsible for observing all hospital rules relative to the care and treatment of patients.
- Coordinates physical therapy plans, goals, and objectives with the department and other staff members of the health care team.
- Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories.
- Assesses abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Must be a fully Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with the State of Florida with 1 year experience in hospital setting.
