Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Chattahoochee, FL
Location: Chattahoochee

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mustbe at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • Musthold unencumbered licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Oneyear of nursing experience, strongly preferred.
  • Mustbe CPR certified, or able to complete training.
  • Mustbe able to complete full orientation at time of hire.
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion.
CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying supervisor when necessary.
  • Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outside sources.
  • Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within their scope of practice as defined by Florida law.
  • Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication and report to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment.
  • Prepare paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments.
  • Coordinate residents’ appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as needed for resident movement to and from the unit.
  • Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law and notifying supervisor for further assistance.
  • Complete incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility.
  • Complete progress notes on resident care within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility.
  • Advocate for residents’ recovery and safety.
  • Maintain appropriate and professional behavior during interactions with residents, supervisors, and other staff members.
  • Display professionalism throughout employment including, but not limited to, arriving to work on time, maintaining an accurate time sheet, and maintaining professional appearance as defined by facility policy.
