# Medication Technician Hot Job Suncoast East - Sarasota, FL 34232## Overview Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Night## Description Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.
* Assists with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
* Speaks to/interacts with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
* Observes and reports to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident’s health and emotional well-being.
* Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
* Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
* Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.
* Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
* Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
* Always responds promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
* Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.
* Ensures residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community
* Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
* Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times.
* Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
* Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.
* Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
* Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.
* Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.
* Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times.
* Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times.
* Complies with attendance and call off policy.
* Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.
* Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times.
* Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor.
* Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations.
* Assists with training of new employees.
* Assists in mentoring new employees.
* Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.
* Provides a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
* Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned.## Qualifications

** Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Skills:

** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and electronic medical records.
** Education/

Experience:

** High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
** Certificates and Licenses:
** Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
