New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.

We are seeking a caring and compassionate individual to provide treatment and service coordination for clients in our Adult and Children's Inpatient Units.

We are hiring for BOTH Adult and Children Units. Full-Time Position!

As a Master's Level Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide individual, family and group therapy and assessments, as well as coordinate effective discharge and follow-up care.

Responsibilities

As a Master's Level Mental Health Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations for new and existing clients
  • Develop and maintain a written treatment plan for each client
  • Conduct individual and multi-client therapy activities
  • Lead and participate with team members in appropriate treatment interventions
  • Conduct education, lecture and group discussions with clients and family members
  • Coordinate written assignments and individual goal setting activities with clients
  • Coordinate and participate in weekly treatment team meetings
  • Ensure that appropriate discharge planning and aftercare services are provided for assigned clients
  • Prepare written documentation for each service conducted
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling is required
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with Adults/children/adolescents
  • Must be able to apply therapeutic effective aggression management techniques without limitations
  • Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse. For more information, visit
