Medical Records Clerk

is responsible for maintaining medical records and health information in accordance with established policies and procedures pertaining to the business. These medical records must be in compliance with current state and federal laws, regulations, survey guidelines, and professional standards of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Gathers patient demographic and personal information
  • Issues medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations
  • Assists with departmental audits and investigations
  • Distributes medical charts to the appropriate departments
  • Maintains quality and accurate medical records by following clinic procedures
  • Ensures patient charts, paperwork and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensures all medical records are protected and kept confidential
  • Files all patient medical records and information
  • Supplies departments with the appropriate documents and forms
  • Completes clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient records
  • Inputs surgical log data in order to maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills via phone or in-person
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and prioritize work etc"
