Radiation therapists work under the guidance of radiation oncologists to administer prescribed radiation treatment to cancer patients. Their responsibilities include performing patient treatments, machine warmups, calculations, simulations, and ensuring radiation safety measures. Operating specialized equipment, such as linear accelerators, they deliver precise radiation to specific areas of the body while closely monitoring patients, maintaining records, and providing emotional support. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

• Perform patient treatments

• Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
• Minimum Education Notes: In lieu of Associate degree, a high school diploma/ GED may be considered if ARRT certification obtained prior to January 1, 2015.
• Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
• Licensure Certification Needed: Yes
• Minimum Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Add Specialty to "Other" (ARRT) Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
• Minimum Licensure (Other): BLSR.T.(T) (ARRT) - Radiation Therapy CRT
