Job SummaryThe Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a qualified professional responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment. As an Ultrasound Technician, you will play a vital role by performing diagnostic ultrasounds, including routine pelvic and transvaginal scans for GYN/OB patients, as well as possible multi‑specialty services such as vascular and small parts studies, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities- Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s); takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if clinically appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies.
- Selects appropriate imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Strong communication skills required; ability to communicate effectively with ordering physicians, other medical professionals, and administrative staff.
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.
- Florida driver’s license.
- Personal automobile.
- Fluent in speaking English (Spanish preferred).
- Active ARDMS, CPR, OSHA certification – (RDMS, RVT, RDCS, CCI).
- 1 Year OB/GYN experience (Required).
- Vascular and General/Abdomen experience (Preferred).
- Echocardiogram experience (Preferred).
- Small Parts (Breast/Thyroid/Scrotum) Experience – (Preferred).
- CPR/BLS Certification (REQUIRED).
Accredited Program:
Ultrasound Technologist (Required). American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), BLS American Heart E‑Card (BLS AHA ECARD) – American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American ecard (BLS AHA) – American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) – Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) – Red Cross (RED CROSS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Additional Education Info:
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or possess a foreign diploma recognized by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Minimal travel between accounts will be required, expecting all travel to be conducted in a timely manner ensuring punctuality.
