Job Description

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of the Center for Student Well‑Being, the Health Promotion Associate delivers outreach, education, and awareness programs on a broad range of health and wellness topics for students at the USF Sarasota‑Manatee campus. The role promotes comprehensive health‑promoting engagement opportunities that support student success, learning, and the development of life‑long healthy habits.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a comprehensive, evidence‑based, and best‑practice approach to health‑promotion behaviors for a diverse campus population using a socio‑ecological model framework.
  • Provide presentations, workshops, outreach offerings, and population‑based programming on topics such as stress management, sleep hygiene, healthy body image, general wellness, and behavior modification (≈ 50 % of time).
  • Collaborate with wellness partners, Student Success, and campus stakeholders on prevention, education, and awareness initiatives related to general wellness (≈ 30 % of time).
  • Conduct literature reviews on timely college health and wellness topics and create reports and documents reflecting health‑promotion work throughout the semester and academic year (≈ 15 % of time).
  • Perform other duties as assigned (≈ 5 % of time).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, Health Education, Wellness Management, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience supporting, coordinating, developing, or delivering health‑promotion, wellness, prevention, student engagement, or educational programs.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of related experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, Health Education, Wellness Management, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification preferred.
