Working Title:

- HEALTH FACILITY EVALUATOR II

The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida.

These surveys ensure that all state licensed, and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care.

Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.

The Work You Will Do
  • Conduct inspections utilizing an established survey process.
  • Evaluate health care facilities for state licensure and federal certification requirements for participation under Medicare/Medicaid.
  • Document findings and complete written reports of survey findings.
  • Perform surveys as an individual, team member, or team leader.
  • Complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Work during weekends or holidays as required by the position.
  • Respond to emergencies and disasters, including work in other counties or staffing locations.

This position is identified as mission essential.

Employees may be required to work during disasters, including before, during, and beyond normal work hours or days.

Emergency duties may involve working in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies.

Emergency duties may include responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man‑made or natural.

Employees must be proficient with computer equipment and software programs such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as smart phone technology.

Employees must be available to work before and after normal work hours, including weekends and holidays.

This position may require extensive travel, including significant overnight travel.

Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.

A good attendance record is essential; employees are expected to report to work daily and on time.

Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

Three (3) years professional or nonprofessional health care licensure, regulation, and/or certification experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
